E90 footwell water leak - not sunroof or vapour seal, what could it be
The sound insulation, as bmw calls it, is actually a vapor barrier that seals water from. Check the sunroof and see if the drain is backed up or clogged causing the drain channel in the sunroof to spill down from the headliner or check behind the c pillar/ rear seats for evidence of water Check the blower motor by spraying water down the windshield on the passenger side towards the wiper cowl
The blower inlet is under the wiper cowl and if the seal between the cowl and windshield is broken water will drip straight to the bottom of the blower motor and into the foot well.
